Pharmacists are health professionals who combine their comprehensive dispensing skills and knowledge with the ability to inform and educate patients so that medication is used in a safe and effective way.

The Bachelor of Pharmacy is a fantastic degree for students who are interested in science, health care and enjoy communicating with people. The Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce is perfect for students who are interested in adding business skills to their pharmacy degree.

The degree integrates four study streams. During third and fourth year, students undertake placements in hospitals and community pharmacies through the Professional Experience Placement (PEP) program. The program provides an understanding of the processes involved in providing primary health care, drug information, and clinical pharmacy services in different practice environments.

To be registered as a pharmacist, students must complete an additional one year internship under the supervision of the Pharmacy Board of Victoria. Monash University offers this internship as part of the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice.
